Welcome to Mindful Healing. I typically use a holistic approach which may include mindfulness meditation, yoga and Usui Reiki. I believe that using a broad array of therapeutic options and a comprehensive approach builds trusting relationships with my clients and leads them to create their own wellness integrated lifestyles. I offer couples, family and individual counseling.
Couples Counseling
Couples attend sessions with me to improve communication, resolve personal conflicts, gain an education on the stages of a relationship, break through old patterns and build positive habits. Some types of issues that a couple may seek help with are: parenting, grieving, depression and/or anxiety, LGBTQ issues, domestic violence, infertility, marital conflict and substance abuse. Sometimes the strongest family unit may need extra support in dealing with unexpected circumstances or changes including but not limited to illness, grief or loss, unemployment, parenting challenges. I have a strong sense of compassion and commitment for helping people gain the necessary qualities for a successful relationship. Using a “wellness” model as opposed to an “illness” one highlights and encourages my clients’ strengths. I usually recommend 80 minute sessions for couples. The cost is $135.
Pre-marital Counseling
Couples getting married can benefit from counseling to learn communication and conflict resolution skills; develop sustainable and healthy relationship patterns; initiate a healthy partnership path; find their meaning of commitment and family and how to honor that; discuss and develop partnership long term goals, values and belief systems regarding children, parenting, extended family, and career; how to leave your family of origin and honor the new nucleus. Also! I can help couples preparing for the wedding- did you know that weddings are often the most conflictual event for an engaged couple?! I provide a safe place for couples to discuss the difficult, uncomfortable issues and help the couple heal before making this commitment. I recommend 5 90-minute sessions (a la carte $135) and offer this in a package for a flat rate of $600.
Co-parenting or Divorce Counseling
Unfortunately, if you are considering separation or divorce, there is often a need for support regarding how to tell your children, family, and community. Additionally, divorce counseling can help you plan for co-parenting and an amicable separation without the need for costly legal fees. As a third party, I can assist in supporting the desires of both parents in a healthy way while putting the children first; continuing the family unit in a different way. I recommend 3 90-minute sessions (a la carte $135) and offer this in package, which includes a parenting plan, for a flat rate of $350.
Individual and Family Counseling
I work with individuals and families by providing a safe, caring and confidential environment where clients can explore their feelings, beliefs and behaviors. Clients may seek therapy to work through challenging memories or experiences, set personal goals to promote desired change, cope with major life changes, improve parenting skills and/or family relations, cope with mental health issues, childhood trauma or to greater their self-knowledge. I’m well versed in helping you through common struggles with anxiety, gender identity, addiction and depression as well as any other challenges you are currently facing. We will develop a collaborative relationship in which we decide together what kind of treatment would be best for you. When working with families, I usually start with the homeostasis of the family unit. We first ask the question, “What does the family unit look like when things are going well?” Often symptoms emerge in a family or even with just one member that can alter the ability of the family’s tendency to maintain internal stability. Family therapy is usually short-term and involves family members who are willing to participate. Family therapy can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times. I usually recommend 50 minutes session for individuals and 80 minutes sessions for families. The cost for a 50-minute session is $100, and $135 for 80 minutes.
I am an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies. If needed I am happy to provide you with a form for Insurance Reimbursement. I am also able to accept funding from the following resources: Second Wind Fund, Mountain Resource Center, Park and Jefferson County Core Services, Division of Youth Corrections, Senate Bill- 94 11th Judicial District, Adolescent and Adult Probation (statewide).
